There is nothing more proper than a signature method, and also, it's copyrighted, where everyone has to credit you or you'll be accused of making it up. But on the other hand, it gives those who lack experience some solutions to approach their problems and Nexus has their special philosophy like no other, like most international schools they take pride in what they believe in. Beliefs are really essential in life and it goes the same with teaching as well. In Nexus, everyone is to know that they have potential, talent and full of opportunities to shine regardless of any backgrounds and disabilities, with this, it allows everyone to realize themselves and to be able to understand themselves better. Also, Nexus has even provide a very conducive environment where it is designed to optimize everyone's learning (teachers' as well) so that they are able to be a Peron with core values of respect, excellence, openness in communication, integrity, passion and enjoyment so that these talents may thrive.

Ethics in practices and performance in teaching.

The teachers in Nexus all possess a handbook containing expectations of being a teacher as well as their ethics and conduct. They are required to review them from time to time - according to Ms. Sahmalah, there are 55 policies in their handbook and they are to ensure the safety of the students as well as the teachers' in certain situations, for instance, a more recently added policy, the snake policy is to assist the school on how to deal with the situation when a snake appears. The school will add in policies if there are new situations. 

Alignment with the code of conduct.

When teaching in an international school, there will be students from different countries, different backgrounds and different religions which the teachers will need to take note of as some of their gestures such as a pat in the head may be an offense to another's culture thus, this is where the handbook is used - to assist the teachers and to safeguard them as well. Ms. Sahmalah has pointed out that a teacher's every move must be well thought out, their interactions with the students may affect their relationship with the students, parents and even their reputation. Not only that, affection given out to students are limited as it may override their parents'.

Personal thoughts

It is not easy to be a teacher, one must be fully prepared and armored especially when teaching in an international school where diversity is the theme. The teachers will have to be creative at the same time without offending one's culture. The purpose of the code of conduct is to ensure the environment is as peaceful and efficient as possible. 

I think that being a teacher in Nexus is especially challenging, as compared to the international school where I studied, the teachers must fully cater the students and the most notable thing in Nexus is no scolding. As in Uplands, though scolding is rare, it is only used in a more serious matter. I may disagree with no scolding to a certain degree, despite this practice may scarr the students and ruin their moods, scolding should take place when all of the gentle methods are ignored and scolding would be considered as the final solution just like in Uplands. There's a method called the carrot and stick where it has been used by various politician which were proved to be very effective, though I don't recommend doing things with any resemblance to any of the historical dictators such as Hitler, Stalin and Mao, scolding may at least, remind the students that they are here to learn.
