The purpose of policies are to function as a safeguard for everyone in case of emergencies and problems and is also a guide for the school authorities on how to act accordingly to a situation, whether it might be life-threatening or trivial. There are a total of 52 policies in Nexus.

The one of the most highlighted policies is the Child Protection Policy. The school prioritizes the students' personal safety where observations and actions will be taken on a student if they have been suspected of such misconduct as well as their current situation fits to the definition of child abuse.

According to Ms. Sahmalah, the teachers also have their very own attendance policy where they are given 4 special leaves in a year including funerals, weddings and etc. Not only students but teachers' attendance do take a crucial role in the teaching and learning experience alongside the fact that the students' parents also take a teacher's attendance very seriously too. If a teacher has made a mistake in their choice of leave as well as the exceeding amount of absence, many including the school will view them to be incompetent for this job.

A child's safety in the virtual/online world can be concerning to parents and thus an Internet Advice Policy has been executed. Nexus believes that children should not be kept away from technologies as these are also vital to their learning  however, at times, the students may get distracted by the social and entertainment aspect of the internet and made it clear that the iPads or Macbook are strictly for educational uses. The students have to sign an agreement where they have accepted to adhere to the policy.
