The School Department
Regardless who they are, everyone in Nexus plays an important role to contribute for the better and even the school's success for the students' learning process.
Takes on the most responsibilities. They are to ensure everything goes smoothly such as the school environment, teachers and students are in good hands. Not only that, they must also maintain their reputation as they are considered to be role models to everyone in school. Although they carry such heavy responsibilities, they would always be able to drop by each class to check on the students as well as the teachers to see if they need anything. Mr. David Griffiths is one of the leadership team alongside Ms. Alison Hampshire who is the school principal, Mr. Chris Lynn- the head of secondary and Mr. Trevor Schubert who is the director of boarding. Mr. Griffiths is the vice principal and head of primary and he would be seen walking around the Primary building and check on every class. Most of the time, he would focus on students that requires more attention in studies, social interactions and their behaviors in school, mainly in class so that he would be able to find ways and solutions to improve.
The leadership team:
In the Primary Team,
they have a very significant contribution to the success of the students as they are also classroom teachers where they hold a greater understanding of their students. Milepost meetings would take place once a fortnight and them as well as the rest of the primary classroom teachers would discuss matters concerning their students' progress and behaviors and that is where the strategies take action. They must hold a neutral and fair perspective over their students to ensure their improvements and success in learning. From the meeting, it shows how much they understand their students as well as the effort they put to improve their students.
The last but not least, the person who is the mastermind of CCAs, Mr. Jim Harrison who manages to coordinate as much co-curricular activities to the students in Nexus so that they will be able to pursue their interests as well as to discover who they are rather than just studying. Like most International schools, the teachers are also involved in there CCAs too, and sometimes, this gives them to opportunity to further understand their students (if they meet their class students too). Each teacher has been assigned to a CCA such as Primary Panto, Lego club, fencing, Aikido and etc. However in special cases, specialists would be the ones leading certain CCAs and this is where the CCA coordinator has to know whatever activity is suitable, they must also ensure that all CCAs are going as planned.
